Conrad had owned a Catahoula before we met. He got Cal from John MacKenzie, a rodeo buddy
of his. John use to travel down to the racetracks in Ocala FL every winter and one spring he came
back with two spotted cow dogs, one just happened to have a bobtail. Cal was also a bobtail so
we thought that most Catahoulas came that way :o)
After Conrad and I met and started our family he never seemed to be totally happy with the dogs
we had and was always talking about Cal, so I suggested getting a Catahoula. I found a breeder,
"Kings Ridge Catahoulas", not far from us in Southern Ontario and incredibly she had natural
bobtail Catahoulas. We went to visit and ended up coming home with a stubby tailed 9 month old
pup, “Kings Ridge’s Jagger”. The bond between him and Conrad was sealed the moment we walked through that door.
That was the beginning; we fell in love with the breed, fell in love with the bobtail, they suited our
lifestyle and complimented our family life, I admire their intelligence and drive.
20 years later we are committed to their past and their future as a great hunter, worker, and protector.
